Writing & newsletter

Publish essays to your public site and grow an email list. Open Dashboard → Writing.

Writing is part of higher plans. If you don't see Writing in your dashboard menu, it isn't enabled for your community yet — reach out and we'll switch it on.

Write an essay

  1. Go to Dashboard → Writing.
  2. Type a title and click Add — we turn it into a tidy web address under /writing/… and open the editor.
  3. Write your essay in Markdown# for headings, **bold**, _italic_, - lists, > quotes, and [links](https://…).
  4. Add an optional tag, cover image (upload one, or paste a URL), and excerpt (a one-line summary shown in the index and previews).
  5. Open SEO to set a custom title, description, and social image (optional).

Publish

  • Save draft keeps your work private.
  • Publish makes it live at yourname.hook.coach/writing/your-essay.

Your published essays are listed at /writing, newest first, and there's an RSS feed at /writing/rss.xml that readers and apps can subscribe to.

To take an essay down, open it and use Unpublish, or delete it from the list.

Newsletter

Add a newsletter sign-up to your site (in the page builder, where available) so readers can subscribe by email. Each sign-up is tied to your community, and duplicate emails are ignored automatically.

Emailing an essay to your subscribers

Once an essay is published, the Writing list shows an envelope button next to it. Click it to email that essay to all your subscribers — they get the title, a short intro, and a link to read it on your site. The header shows your subscriber count.

  • You can send each essay once (it's marked Emailed afterwards, so no accidental double-sends).
  • Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, handled automatically.
  • Sending requires email to be configured for the platform (RESEND_API_KEY); until then the button tells you it isn't connected yet.
